DO YOU LIKE PUZZLES? GOD DOES!
The beginning.
In 2002, after asking God “why” about a scripture, He started revealing the wonders He has hidden in His Word for a time such as this.
For many years, the drive to search for the answer has never gone away. There have been times of frustration when I was completely confused and would convince myself that the idea of a message in the camp was all in my imagination. All the notes and charts would be put away.
But then God would give me a nudge – a new perspective, an insight, or question.
The quest continues.
Recently, while elbow deep in notes and charts, the Lord asked me if I was enjoying His puzzle. I was so blessed! You see, the Lord has given each of us a specific job or purpose that will advance the work of His Kingdom. We can discover that purpose by examining our talents and interests. We can ask ourselves: “What is my passion? What holds my attention day and night?” When we look for these answers, we will find our purpose.
Ask. Seek. Knock.
I would think, “Okay Lord, I love puzzles and mysteries. What good is that? How can puzzle solving possibly advance Your Kingdom?” I always considered them useless but I would still ask the question. It took me years to hear His answer. Just because we don’t think our interests and talents are important doesn’t mean that God doesn’t have a purpose for them. God does work in mysterious ways and uses the most unlikely people.
What I found.
When I read the book of Numbers, I noticed chapters 1 and 2 contained the same information. When God repeats something, it's often a sign that we should pay attention! There's a richness and excitement in learning God's word in a fresh, new way.
